Concrete prices in New Zealand are based on a per cubic metre rate, therefore when enquiring about price you will need to provide the concrete volume required.

Q: Why Canterbury Concrete for Exposed Mixes?

Here at Canterbury Concrete we pride ourselves in making sure you get the concrete you want, bringing in product from all over the South Island to ensure we meet your needs. We do all types of concrete and we have a special passion for decorative concrete.

Q: Can we add colour to concrete?

Yes you can – concrete doesn’t have to be grey. At Canterbury Concrete we have a large range of colours for you to look over and choose the one thate matcsh your personal preferences and application.

Q: How do we know the trucks will fit up our driveway?

We can pop out and have a look or when one of our experienced drivers is going past we can get him to stop and check it will fit.

Q: Does Canterbury Concrete do the placing as well?

We stick to what we do best which is just mixing and delivering quality concrete. You will need to hire a placer for this part of the job.

Q: How do I choose a Concrete Placer?

  • Do your research into concrete placers located in your area; are they a member of the NZCCA?
  • Check with your local ready mix suppliers to help gauge local concrete placer’s reputations for quality and consistency
  • Obtain quotes from reputable concrete placers who are competent in the work you require.
  • Ask to see examples of their work and ascertain guarantees for your requirements.
  • Are they willing to discuss your job with you i.e. expectations, timelines, any site difficulties?

Q: I hear Exposed Mixes are hard on the feet

If you are using an Exposed Crushed Mix it can be a bit hard on the feet. We have 10+ Exposed Rounds Mixes – they look great and are a bit easier on the feet.

Q: I have been to a friend’s place and seen their driveway with your Exposed Southern Alps Mix. Will it look the same at my house?

It will be mixed the same here at the plant but sometimes the final look can vary a little depending on your placer and the environment at the time. Eg. temperature, shading.

Q: What are the Advantages of sealing Coloured Concrete?

  • Colour can be enhanced with a wet-look type sealer
  • Reduced risk of staining
  • Risk of efflorescence is reduced
  • Retention of colour over time is extended
